Ski hire Astun
Built in 1976, Astun was one of the first ski resorts to be built in Spain.
The resort is located at an altitude of 1658m in the Aragon Pyrenees and is connected to Formigal and Candanchu, making it the largest ski area in the Iberian Peninsula. It benefits from a privileged orientation to the north, which protects it from the wind and guarantees an optimal quality of snow throughout the season.
The Astun-Candanchu area is one of the largest ski resorts in the Pyrenees and offers 105 kilometers of varied slopes. Although the altitude difference is relatively small, the area reaches an altitude of 2300m and offers numerous steep slopes. If you are a beginner, we recommend that you rather go to Candanchu, where there are many blue slopes ideal for learning to ski. For those who prefer free skiing, there are about ten off-piste routes that allow you to practice challenging skiing, especially from the top of the Cima Raca chairlift.
In addition to alpine skiing, you can also go ski touring or snowshoeing in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park. Cross-country skiers can use their edges on the 34 kilometers of trails in Candanchu.
Since Astun is a small village at the foot of the slopes, most skiers stay in Jaca (30 minutes away) in the Aragon Valley. After stowing your skis, you can let your kids enjoy various activities in the town center (ice rink, climbing wall, spa, ski rentals...) and treat yourself to some enjoyable downtime, enjoying tapas on the terrace.
For your choice of ski equipment, we recommend our YETI store, ideally located at the foot of your accommodation and at the foot of the slopes.
